Are you ready to "Cut the Cord"?

Currently, less than 2% of the U.S. population has adopted to the cord cutting phenomenon. However, that number looks to be trending upward in the coming years

Here are some of the reason's why:

An eruption of programming choices is disrupting the traditional cable TV model at a rapid pace. Consumers have a hard time keeping up. It’s not about simply reducing your cable or satellite bill anymore.

For years, the Big Box cable companies have had exclusive rights to carry premium channels like Travel Channel, Food Network or AMC. It's called syndication exclusivity.

Not anymore...

You can now "Cut the Cord".

Let's start with a blast from the past; TV antennas are back in style again. Pretty cool! (Don’t get your hopes up for the Compact Cassette coming back, though...) You can now get a high definition feed of local stations that include Sports, Local News and Major for life...

And, companies like DirecTV Now, fuboTV, Sling TV and PlayStation Vue offer “skinny bundles” of various cable channels over the Internet for a low as $20 per month. (And no, you don’t have to be a gamer) For those who don’t know, "skinny bundles" are simply slimmed-down TV packages.

With a HDHomeRun or TiVo OTA DVR you can record these free and local stations. Anyone remember VCR (or Beta)?

2017 is projecting to be the biggest increase of consumer cord cutting. Until now, there have never been more ways to obtain and watch shows, sports, news and movies without having to pay excessive prices to cable and satellite companies.

There have been several articles printed by numerous and respectable publications insinuating that you can’t really save money by scraping cable. Experts claim that cable providers like Comcast, Verizon, Time Warner Cable and AT&T will increase your Internet subscription monthly price if you cancel your cable subscription.

These folks could not be more wrong!

Let Wysper explain!

Just take a look at these five steps:

  1. Subscribe to Wysper’s Fiber Fed Wireless Internet service.

  2. Decide about skinny bundles (fuboTV, Sling TV…) and subscriptions (Netflix, Amazon, etc…)

  3. Choose a streaming device (Apple Box, Fire Stick, etc…)

  4. Purchase a TV antenna for local channels

  5. Pass this along to all of your friends and family!

If you select Wysper as your Internet provider, be sure to comment on what you did if you cut the cord on our Facebook page.

Best of Luck!
